No, when removed properly. Warm the part with a hair dryer, cut the tape with fishing line or dental floss, then lift residue with adhesive remover and a plastic scraper. Factory paint in sound condition is not affected. Do not fit either part over damaged, resprayed or freshly painted panels - paint less than 30 days old has not fully outgassed and tape can lift it.
