Installation Steps
Park your Sorento on level ground, engage the parking brake, and use wheel chocks. Grab your socket wrench, screwdrivers, pliers, and a panel tool. Don't forget gloves and safety glasses!
Front Bumper: Step-by-Step
- Prep: Inspect the new bumper and clean the vehicle's mounting area.
- Remove Old: Take off upper caps (under hood), lower caps/screws (under vehicle). Turn the steering wheel, peel back the fender liner, and remove the single screw on each side connecting the bumper to the fender.
- Install New: Align and secure the new bumper, tightening from the center outwards. Connect any lights or sensors.
Rear Bumper: Step-by-Step
- Prep: Inspect the new bumper and clean the vehicle's mounting area.
- Remove Old: Open the trunk, remove taillights (2 screws each side), and any pistons/screws near them. In the wheel arches, remove the single screw on each side connecting the bumper to the fender. From underneath, remove two bolts on each side connecting the bumper reinforcement to the body.
- Install New: Align and secure the new bumper, tightening from the center outwards. Reconnect any cameras or sensors.
Final Check
Visually inspect for even alignment and a flush fit. Gently tug to confirm it's secure. Test all lights/sensors and ensure no interference with doors, hood, or trunk.
