Installation Steps
Installing your new Kia Forte Rear Seat Backrest is a straightforward process for enhanced interior comfort and functionality.
1. Prepare & Ensure Safety
Gather tools (socket wrench, 12-14mm socket, torque wrench). Park on a flat surface, engage parking brake, turn off engine, and remove key for safety.
2. Remove Old Backrest (If Applicable)
Remove rear seat cushion by releasing front clips and sliding it back. Locate and remove bolts securing the backrest (check sides/bottom; remove plastic covers if present). Carefully lift out the old backrest, noting any wiring.
3. Install New Backrest
Position new backrest, aligning with mounting holes. Hand-thread bolts then tighten with socket wrench (to 16.7 - 25.5 N·m with torque wrench, if available, in a criss-cross pattern). Reconnect any wiring harnesses (e.g., for seat heaters).
4. Reinstall & Check
Position rear seat cushion, aligning front clips, and push down firmly until they snap. Gently shake backrest and cushion to ensure tightness. Verify all seat features (like heaters) and seat belts function correctly.
