Installation Steps
1.Preparation
Disconnect the vehicle battery to ensure safety. Gather tools including a wrench, oxygen sensor socket, and penetrating oil.
2.Locate the Sensor
Identify the front oxygen sensor in the exhaust system (as shown in the application image, near the engine manifold and radiator cap).
3.Remove Old Sensor
Disconnect the electrical connector by pressing the release tab. Use a wrench or oxygen sensor socket to unscrew the old sensor from the exhaust pipe, applying penetrating oil if needed.
4.Install New Sensor
Thread the new MG3SW Front Oxygen Sensor into the exhaust pipe by hand to avoid cross-threading, then tighten it with the sensor socket to the manufacturer’s specified torque.
5.Reconnect Components
Reattach the electrical connector, ensuring a secure fit, and check that the wiring is routed away from hot surfaces.
6.Final Check
Reconnect the battery, start the engine, and use an OBD-II scanner to confirm the sensor is communicating with the ECU. Verify there are no error codes or check engine lights.
