Installation Steps
1. Preparation & Safety
- Tools: Generally none needed; a small flat-head screwdriver might be useful for stubborn clips.
- Vehicle Safety: Park on a flat, stable surface, engage the parking brake firmly, and turn off the engine/ignition to prevent accidental wiper activation.
2. Accessing Wiper Blades
- Position Wipers: From the driver's seat, move the wiper control stalk to "Mist" or "Single-sweep" and quickly turn off the ignition to hold wipers in an accessible position.
- Lift Wiper Arms: Gently lift each wiper arm away from the windshield to a vertical position, being careful not to let them snap back.
3. Removing Old Wiper Blades
- Front Wipers: Locate the release button/tab on the wiper blade assembly. Press the tab and slide the old blade downwards and off the arm. Repeat for both driver and passenger sides.
- Rear Wiper (if applicable): Open the rear hatch. Find the release button/tab on the rear wiper blade, press it, and slide the blade off the arm.
4. Installing New Wiper Blades
- Verify Blades: Ensure new blades are the correct size (fronts usually different lengths; rear is specific).
- Front Wipers: Align the new blade's attachment point with the wiper arm's hook. Slide the blade onto the arm until it clicks securely into place. Repeat for both sides.
- Rear Wiper (if applicable): Align the new rear blade with the arm and slide it on until it locks into position.
5. Testing Wiper Blades
- Lower Arms: Gently lower the wiper arms back onto the windshield.
- Functionality Check: Turn on the ignition and operate the wipers at a slow speed. Observe for smooth, streak-free, and quiet operation. If issues arise, re-check installation.
