Includes

• Park the vehicle on a flat surface, engage the parking brake, and disconnect the battery negative electrode (-).
• Ensure the ignition is off to prevent electrical shorts.

• The evaporative thermistor is typically mounted near the evaporator core behind the dashboard.
• For most models:
  • Remove the lower dashboard trim panel on the driver’s side (near the accelerator pedal).
  • Look for a black sensor with a wiring harness connected to it.

• Disconnect the Harness: Press the tab on the electrical connector and pull it straight off.
• Remove the Sensor:
  • Rotate the thermistor 90° counterclockwise to unlock it from the evaporator housing.
  • Gently pull it out, taking care not to damage the evaporator fins.

• Align the new thermistor with the evaporator housing and rotate it 90° clockwise to secure it.
• Reconnect the electrical harness, ensuring a snug fit.

• Reconnect the battery and start the engine.
• Turn on the AC to “LOW” temperature and observe the compressor operation:
  • The compressor should cycle on/off as the evaporator temperature changes.
  • Use a diagnostic tool (if available) to verify the thermistor’s resistance values match factory specs (e.g., ~7.4kΩ at 10°C/50°F).

• Secure the dashboard trim panel back in place.
• Test all AC functions (cooling, fan speed, defrost) to ensure proper operation.
