    • Socket wrench set (you'll specifically want 10mm, 12mm and 21mm sockets)
    • Torque wrench
    • Trim removal tool kit (plastic pry tools are essential to avoid scratches)
    • Zip ties
    • Quality electrical tape or split-loom tubing
    • A quality relocation bracket

    Step 1: Remove the Spare Tire

    Lift the spare back onto the carrier, making sure the new bracket passes cleanly through the wheel's center hole. Thread the lug nuts and torque them in a star pattern to the factory spec of 83 ft-lbs (113 Nm) so the wheel seats securely — important for safety on and off the road.
